Otherwise, she seemed like an average girl. Honestly, I think one of the few redeeming qualities of Mara is that her family seems to keep her grounded. She annoyed me a lot – which isn’t unusual for a YA heroine, but at certain points I couldn’t bear how annoyed I felt with her. I went through a kind of tumultous relationship with Mara in this book – first I liked her, then I didn’t, then I did again. She doesn’t believe that after everything she’s been through, she can fall in love. She believes there must be more to the accident she can’t remember that killed her friends and left her strangely unharmed. Mara Dyer believes life can’t get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.

Anyway, the Mara Dyer trilogy has been sitting on my TBR for well over a year and I decided I wanted to read something… paranormal – which is the category this trio is most often sorted into on Goodreads.įor the longest time, I couldn’t figure out why. I think I’ve been pretty open about that. I like a lot of books that fall into a series.
